This 291,000 welded steel standpipe features an umbrella roof. The tank was erected as part of the Magnolia Woods MUD No.1 Water Supply Plant project which included the 87′ standpipe, two wells, horizontal split case booster pumps, a hydropneumatic tank, and a booster pump building to supply drinking water to the locals.
At 87′ tall with only a 24′ diameter, the field crew had to utilize scaffolding inside of the tank to complete all welds. They then had to remove all scaffold clips from the interior using a manbasket lowered by a crane as part of a critical lift plan.
As it is easily visible from nearby roads, this Standpipe is set to receive a mural with the neighborhood’s name on it once the coatings are complete.
